LONDON - A British national was killed when a car bomb exploded at a theater near a British school in the Qatari capital Doha on Saturday, Britain's foreign office said.
Twelve other people were wounded in the explosion, according to the interior ministry in Qatar.
"A British national has died. There have been several other people injured but we cannot confirm their nationalities yet," a foreign office spokesman told AFP late on Saturday.
The spokesman noted that Britain's charges d'affaires in Doha had indicated he knew of two other British nationals who went into hospital after the explosion but later left.
