BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb blast claimed the life of a US soldier Wednesday south of Baghdad, the US military said in a statement.
"A 1st Corps Support Command Soldier died March 16 of injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device explosion. The explosion occurred on a road south of Baghdad," the military said.
The death raised to 1,508 the number of military personnel killed in Iraq since the US invasion two years ago, according to an estimate based on the latest tally from the Pentagon.
