BERLIN - Turkey will break a record in tourism this year, Klaus Laepple, chairman of German Travel Agencies Union (DRV), quoted Turkish Culture & Tourism Minister Atilla Koc as saying.
Koc, who is in German capital of Berlin to visit International Tourism Fair (ITB), held several meetings with members of German Social Democrat Party's Federal Parliamentary Tourism Commission, Klaus Laepple, and Vural Oger, a member of the European Parliament and owner of the tourism company named Oger Tours.
After their meeting with Koc, Annette Fasse, a member of the German Social Democrat Party's Federal Parliamentary Tourism Commission, said that many Germans felt themselves at home in Turkey.
Fasse asked Turkey to pay more attention to culture tourism.
On the other hand, Laepple told reporters after his meeting with Koc that many Germans had already booked hotels for vacation in Turkey.
Laepple said, ''Mr. minister also said that the (tourism) figures were very positive. It seems that Turkey will break a new record in tourism in 2005.''
