GAZA CITY - Israeli and Palestinian ministers will meet on Monday to discuss the transfer of security control over several towns in the occupied West Bank, a Palestinian official said Sunday.
Talks on Israel ceding control of two towns to the Palestinian Authority had stalled last week after the two sides failed to reach agreement.
"Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz and Palestinian interior minister Nasr Yussuf are expected to meet to discuss the implementation of the Sharm el-Sheikh accords on the transfer of control of West Bank areas to the Palestinian Authority," the official said.
The transfer of security in five West Bank towns -- Ramallah, Bethlehem, Qalqilya, Tulkarem and Jericho -- was one of the key issues agreed at the summit in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh last month between Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
