ATLANTA, Georgia - The suspect in the Atlanta courthouse triple murders killed another official as he escaped, Atlanta police chief Richard Pennington said Saturday following the fugitive's arrest.
"He shot a Customs agent. He took his truck and he took his weapon -- his Glock -- and he took his ID. We know that as a fact," Pennington told reporters.
A worker found the body Saturday morning at a construction site where the agent had been working on his future home," Pennington said.
The suspect, Brian Nichols, 33, was arrested Saturday at an apartment complex just north of Atlanta, following a tip-off from a resident.
He allegedly went on a killing rampage Friday, gunning down a judge, a court reporter and a sheriff's deputy after grabbing the gun of an officer who was leading him to a courtroom for a hearing in his rape trial.
