US soldier dies in non-combat incident

BAGHDAD - A US soldier died in a non-combat incident Friday in the western province of al-Anbar, the military said Saturday in a statement.
"One soldier assigned to the First Marine Expeditionary Force was killed in a non-hostile accident March 11, 2005," it said, but declined to give any further details.
The death raised to 1,505 the number of soldiers killed in Iraq since the US invasion two years ago, according to the latest tally from the Pentagon.
