KIEV - Ukraine prosecutors said Wednesday for the first time that they planned to question former president Leonid Kuchma as part of their investigation into the grisly murder of an opposition journalist in 2000.
"Of course he'll be questioned, that's evident," Vyacheslav Astapov, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office, told AFP.
"It will be as a witness in the case" of Georgy Gongadze, an investigative reporter who disappeared in September 2000 and whose headless body was found two months later.
Kuchma on Monday again denied any involvement in the killing.
