Suicide car bomb explodes near US military base in Iraq

RAMADI, Iraq - A suicide car bomb exploded at a checkpoint outside a US military base near Ramadi in the restive Iraqi province of Al-Anbar on Wednesday, police said.
"A suicide car bomb attacked a joint Iraqi-US checkpoint outside an American military base by Habbaniyah," said Iraqi police captain Ahmed al-Dulaimi.
There was no immediate word on any casualties.
US marines assigned to Anbar province said they had no reports of an attack on its troops in Habbaniyah.
