The European Court of Human Rights has Greece to pay a fine each to 8 of the14 West Thracian Turks who filed a lawsuit with the court against the Greek government.
The European Court of Human Rights which wrapped up the lawsuit filed by Hulusi Zaim Buyan and his friends over the hardships they were obliged to suffer because of the expropriation of their properties at a price lower than their market value and the delayed repayment of the expropriated price has ruled that Greece has violated the right of fair trial and of protection of properties and assets, all of which are included in the European Convention on Human Rights.
In line with the court ruling, Greece will pay about 37 thousand euros to 8 of the 14 west Thracian Turks in compensation.
