Members of the Association of Young Bosnians in Turkey have been giving 8,372 flowers from Bosnia with the support of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe to prominent figures in Turkey in order to commemorate 8,372 Bosnian victims who were murdered in Srebrenitsa in July 1995.

The members, who have offered those flowers to Parliament members and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s daughter Sumeyye Erdogan, also gave a letter and a flower from Srebrenitsa to the prime minister yesterday. In response to this incident, Erdogan put the Srebrenitsa flower on his collar.

The letter to Erdogan thanks him for his support, saying that 8,372 pairs of shoes symbolizing the Srebrenitsa massacre will be turned into a monument at the Aliya Izzetbegovic Park located in the Kecioren neighborhood of Ankara this year.
