England decided on expelling Syrian Charge d’Affaires Ghassa Dalla and two Syrian diplomats in protest of the massacre on Friday in Syria’s Houla region.
William Hague, the Foreign Secretary of England, put the horrid massacre into words and explained that they gave seven days to two diplomats and charge d’affaires to leave England. He also mentioned that the ally countries are taking about similar actions.
Syrian Ambassador in London, Sami Khiyami returned to Syria last month after the increasing criticism to al-Assad’s regime from England.
Syria was being represented at the charge d’affaires level in England.
After expelling decisions of Australia, France, Germany and England; Italy, Spain and Canada decided to expel Syrian ambassadors and diplomats in order to raise the pressure on Damascus too.
In a statement released, the Canadian Foreign Ministry said that all the Syrian diplomats will be expelled in protest at the killing of civilians on Friday.
Even though Turkey has not decided on expelling Syrian diplomats, according to AA’s diplomatic sources, there are not much officials left in the Syrian Embassy of Ankara and they said that Syria is being represented at charge d’affaires level in Turkey.
Meanwhile, Spanish government called out that they are expelling the Syrian Ambassador in Madrid, Hussam Edin Aala as well in protest of the al-Assad’s regime and massacre which took place in Houla. According to the information which was given by the diplomatic sources to the Spanish News Agency, EFE, the Syrian Ambassador in Madrid has been called to the Spanish Foreign Ministry to hear the decision of his deportation.
Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo, the Spanish Foreign Minister, stated during a press conference on Monday that there needs to be new actions being taken in order to stop the violence that al-Assad’s regime carries out.
