DavutoÄŸlu to participate in UN meeting on mediation

Foreign Minister Ahmet DavutoÄŸlu will participate in a UN meeting in New York on the role of member countries in mediation efforts.

A written statement by the Foreign Ministry said that a high-level thematic meeting on the mediation will be held by UN General Assembly President Nassir Abdul-Aziz and Ahmet DavutoÄŸlu will address the UN General Assembly within this framework and then will participate into an interactive panel.

The statement said also that Turkey and Finland started an initiative called, “Mediation for Peace” in 2010 and has been the co-chair of the Friends of Mediation group since then, adding that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will also address the meeting.

Within the scope of the meeting, Foreign Minister DavutoÄŸlu will also meet with Ban.
