C.T.P. Nominates Talat To Run For Presidency In Northern Cyprus

LEFKOSA - Republican Turkish Party (CTP) on Monday nominated its leader Mehmet Ali Talat to run for the presidency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Speaking to journalists after announcement of the decision, CTP leader and TRNC Prime Minister Talat said, ''If I become the President, I will try to defend rights of Turkish Cypriot people in the strongest way in international platform.''
The presidential elections will take place on April 17th in TRNC.
''Our duty will be to carry the will of Turkish Cypriot people to the international platform for the solution of Cyprus problem,'' Talat said.
