ANKARA - Turkey will be the home of ''purchasing delegations'' coming from Ireland, Denmark, Thailand and the Philippines as of mid-March, said a Turkish international trading expert.
Such delegations will have a chance to examine Turkish made goods and take note of those products that could be imported by respective countries.
In a similar project, Anatolian companies will have a chance to introduce their new products in such countries as Mongolia, Finland, Denmark and Sweden. ''Our trips abroad are intended to develop economic'' ties,'' told Tuncer Kayalar, Undersecretary for Foreign Trade.
According to information received by the A.A, the Turkish Directorate General of Foreign Trade started a project of ''purchasing delegations'' in 1996.
''Our goal is to make the Turkish economy more competitive not only in the EU but all over the world,'' said Kayalar, a high-level bureaucrat of the Turkish Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
