RIYADH, March 6 (AFP) - Jordan's King Abdullah II made a brief visit to Riyadh on Sunday where he was to discuss recent developments in the Arab world with Saudi officials, Jordanian diplomatic sources said.
King Abdullah was met at the airport by Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz, who is running the country's affairs due to the failing health of King Fahd.
The visit comes a day after Syrian President Bashar al-Assad announced that Syria's forces in Lebanon would pull back eastwards to the Bekaa Valley and then towards the Syrian-Lebanese frontier.
Saudi Arabia has welcomed the Syrian announcement.
