ISTANBUL - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Turkey on Sunday, the Anatolia news agency reported, with a Turkish official describing the unexpected visit as a private one.
Nazarbayev flew into Istanbul airport aboard a private plane, where reporters were barred from photographing him while leaving the plane, Anatolia said.
"There are no official talks planned. It must be a private visit," a senior Turkish diplomat told AFP, asking not to be named.
