Erdogan: There Is No Need To Be Worried About Recent Resignations From Ak Party

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said late on Friday, ''there is no need to be worried about recent resignations from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party).''
In an interview with the Channel 7, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''there is no need to be worried about recent developments from the AK Party. Some of our friends may criticize us. It is their own political approach. The AK Party is the most organized political party in Turkey for the time being. We will continue progressing on our path with those who adopted principles of our political party. I consider recent resignations as personal attitudes, not political approaches.''
''Our government has been continuing working hard after the EU decided to open entry negotiations with Turkey on October 3rd, 2005 at its summit on December 17th, 2004. Turkey-EU Troika meeting will take place in Ankara next week. During the meeting, steps to be taken in Turkey's EU process would be discussed in detail,'' he said.
Upon a question about appointment of chief negotiator, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''media turned it into a magazine show. In fact, it is a quite serious issue. It is meaningless not to take such an important issue seriously.''
