Number Of Foreign Tourists Visiting Turkey Rises

ANKARA - Number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey in February of 2005 increased 14.03 percent to 693,130.
Releasing a written statement on Saturday, Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism said that number of foreign tourists coming to Turkey from the member countries to the Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) increased by 17 percent, and number of foreign tourists coming to Turkey from East European countries rose by 6.17 percent.
Germany topped the list of countries sending the highest number of tourists to Turkey followed by Bulgaria, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, France, Georgia, Greece, Britain, Switzerland, Syria, Austria, Italy and Ukraine.
Meanwhile, number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey in the first two months of 2005 increased 22.06 percent to 1,393,368.
