Turkey Raises $880 Million Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 126,562 tons of hazelnuts and earned 880,878,440 U.S. dollars in the 26th week of 2004-2005 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2004.
According to the data released by Black Sea Hazelnut & Products Exporters' Association, Turkey actually exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 103,825 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU), 13,067 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 6,113 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 3,557 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 140,479 tons of hazelnuts and gained an income of 515,763,440 U.S. dollars.
