KARABUK - Cemalettin Sevim, the governor of northern city of Karabuk, said on Friday that although wreckage of the military plane which went missing over Karabuk yesterday, was found in Dedeyaylasi Caltepe region, it would take time to reach the wreckage due to heavy snowfall in the region.
In an interview with the A.A, Sevim said that pilots of a military helicopter located wreckage of the F-16 military plane in Dedeyaylasi Caltepe region.
''Bulldozers have begun re-opening roads which were closed due to snowfall to reach the wreckage. However, snow reached 50-60 centimeters in some places. Bad weather conditions have been hampering search-and-rescue efforts,'' he said.
Sevim noted that they could not reach any information about condition of the F-16 pilots.
The F-16 military plane, which had two pilots on board, disappeared from radar screens in a mountainous part of northern Turkey shortly after taking off from the Fourth Air Jet Command in central city of Eskisehir.
