CHP to hold congress on March 3

Opposition within the party gathered enough support to take the party to the Extraordinary Congress in a bid to rewrite the party charter.

When the opposition gathered 362 signatures CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had hinted at an upcoming Congress by saying "we will do what law says to be done".

Now the date has been set for the Congress, which has to be held within 45 days following the submission of the signatures.

The Extraordinary Congress will be held on March 3, 2012.
