Erdogan: Turkey And The United States Have Been Maintaining Their Bilateral Relations As Two Friendly And Allied Countries For Long Years

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, ''Turkey and the United States have been maintaining their relations as two friendly and allied countries for long years. Today, these relations have been continuing on a rationalist ground.''
In a televised address to the nation, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''recently, there are some speculations claiming that Turkey experienced some problems in its relations with the United States. I want to stress that it is quite normal that there can be some cyclical differences of opinion in such historical relations based on sound grounds. As it was noted during NATO Summit, similar speculations were also made for transatlantic relations.''
''Turkey and the United States have been maintaining their relations as two friendly and allied countries for long years. Today, these relations have been continuing on a rationalist ground. Our countries may have differences of style in their approach to several regional and cyclical problems from time to time. However, historical profundity and multi-dimensional structure of our relations with the United States have the necessary power to further develop our friendly relations and cooperation. In order to reach this target, media and non-governmental organizations should not lead any negative and baseless prejudices in both Turkish and American public opinions,'' Prime Minister Erdogan added.''
