BEIRUT, Feb 21 (AFP) - Lebanon's parliament will hold a special debate next week on the situation in the country at the behest of the opposition after the murder of former prime minister Rafiq Hariri.
Parliamentary speaker Nabil Berri agreed the debate, which could see the opposition lodge a no-confidence motion in the government, would be held next Monday.
Lebanon's Damascus-backed government headed by Prime Minister Omar Karameh is facing massive public calls to resign over the killing of Hariri, blamed by many here on Syria.
