The countdown has begun to the Greentree summit at the end of this month. The two sides will be meeting twice before the tripartite meeting, on the 4th and 9th of January before the summit and will also be coming together for dinner with UN representatives on the 5th of January in the village of Pile, located in the UN Buffer zone.

President Derviş Eroğlu and the Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias are set to meet this Wednesday, the 4th of January following a short New Year break. The meeting at the UN Special Representative Lisa Butteheim’s residence will start at 10am. The two leaders will also be coming together for a dinner on Thursday, the 5th of January in the village Pile.

The United Nations Secretary General’s Special Adviser Alexander Downer and the UN Special Representative to Cyprus Lisa M. Buttenheim will be attending the dinner reception.

The next tripartite meeting at Greentree, New York, which will be attended by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon will take place between 22nd and 24th January.
