BRUSSELS, Feb 21 (AFP) - US President George W. Bush on Monday declared his support for a "strong Europe" that is united and democratic and working as a partner of the United States to promote global peace.
Washington believed in a strong Europe "because we need a strong partner" in the hard work of promoting peace, Bush told a gathered audience in Brussels on a trip billed as mending fences after the rift left by the Iraq war two years ago.
