Turkish President Abdullah Gül recorded that application of the Taiwan Model in Cyprus was a technical issue.
Expressing that the following few months were the best opportunity for the solution of the Cyprus problem. Gül asked from all those who want to end the Cyprus issue to make great efforts. Upon being asked how he evaluated the ‘Taiwan Model ‘proposal of the Turkish EU Minister Egemen Bagıs Gul expressed that this was a technical issue and added that the present situation in Cyprus shall not continue forever and said that the following months are the best time for the solution of the Cyprus problem.
Indicating that the Greek Cypriot administration shall not need a solution after assuming the EU Term Presidency at the second half of the year 2012 Gül said that there shall not be an opportunity for a solution in such a situation.
Gül asked from all those who want to end the Cyprus issue to make great efforts in order to finalize the Cyprus fights within the EU and the NATO.
