ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan returned to Turkey on Thursday after paying a visit to Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Speaking at Ankara's Esenboga Airport, Erdogan said his meetings were very fruitful.
Erdogan said they obviously saw that there was a very positive point of view both in Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina toward Turkey, and stated that there was an agreement to improve economic, commercial, political and cultural relations.
Erdogan said he met various high ranking officials in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania, and stressed that, ''we discussed the steps that could be taken to improve relations and we decided to meet often from now on. We also decided to prepare a basis to make particularly business councils to work more actively.''
Erdogan said Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina signed an agreement to prevent double taxation to allow our businessmen to invest mutually or in the third countries.
When a journalist recalled that representatives of several U.S. companies visited Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and asked to assess the visit, Erdogan said, ''those are positive developments. We wish this not to remain as a step made only by the United States. Our European friends should also make such steps as they made promises to us. If such steps are made economy and trade areas now, they are positive developments in line with our expectations. We want this process to continue.''
