ANKARA, Feb 17 (AFP) - Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul will travel to Beirut Thursday to convey Turkey's condolences to the family of slain former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri, a foreign ministry official said.
Gul was scheduled to leave Ankara at 1200 GMT and return later in the evening.
The minister has no plans for any official contacts in Beirut, the official said.
Hariri and 14 others were killed in a massive explosion Monday thought to have been caused by a suicide car bomb.
"While condemning in the strongest terms this despicable act of terrorism, I would like to state that no effort should be spared to bring its perpetrators to justice," Gul said Wednesday in a letter to his Lebanese counterpart Mahmud Hammud.
