GREEK CYPRIOTS: WE IMPOSE EMBARGO ON U.S.
Greek Cypriot administration reacted strongly against the visit which U.S. firms in Turkey will pay to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Thursday. Greek Cypriot administration threatened to impose embargo on U.S. goods as well as ban on tenders. It also stated it may strengthen its relations with Syria and Iran.
GUL: ''EU APPROVED 72 TURKISH PROJECTS''
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said, ''the EU decided to support 72 of 543 projects of Turkey within the scope of EU's 6th Framework Program.'' Gul added, ''a total of 106 million 700 thousand Euros was paid from EU donations and national sources. The ratio between the financial contribution we have paid and the share we have taken is nearly 10 percent.''

SPRING ATMOSPHERE WITH UNITED STATES
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul and U.S. Secretary of State Condolezza Rice talked for half an hour in Gul's car while going to airport. Speaking to Milliyet about this meeting, Gul said, ''before Rice has come, I told officials that we would discuss many issues but our priority is Kirkuk issue. We have explained our uneasiness and theses about Kirkuk to Rice. I only talked about Kirkuk issue with Rice in the car.''
COMMAND UNDER TURKISH SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN
Turkey undertook command of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan for 6 months in a ceremony held in Kabul. Turkish soldiers had undertaken command of ISAF for 6 months in 2002.

ARINC: WE'LL STRUGGLE AGAINST CORRUPTION REGARDLESS OF WHO'S INVOLVED IN IT
Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said that they would investigate the claims of corruption in energy field with a determined manner. He said, ''newspapers wrote two deputies are involved in the corruption. We will struggle against corruption regardless of who is involved in it.''
DENKTAS TO SAY ''STOP'' TO PAPADOPOULOS
Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said that intransigent attitude of Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos should be stopped. Meanwhile, Papadopoulos protested the statements of a U.S. diplomat who said he would arrive in TRNC from Ercan Airport. He threatened the United States to establish alliance with Syria and Iran, and also impose embargo on U.S. goods.

TURKEY CALLS UN TO TAKE ACTION
After election results were announced in Iraq, Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Iraqi Interim Parliament cannot reflect real ratios of parts in Iraqi society due to irregularities in elections. Foreign Ministry invited UN to take active role.
SALARIES LOWER THAN EU FOR 35 YEARS
A Turkish civil servant who starts to work today cannot reach to his European colleague in the aspect of salaries. If salaries of civil servants increase 5 percent each year in Turkey, it will reach to current salary amount of European civil servants in 2040.

IMF RETOUCH ON INCENTIVE DRAFT LAW
Change will be made on incentive draft law which the International Monetary Fund (IMF) did not want. Thus, the number of cities will not be decreased, but encouragement will be provided to investments which create employment, so burden on budget will be decreased.
PROTEST TO BE HELD AT WHITE HOUSE
Turkish society is uneasy about serials which show Turks as terrorists in recent period in the United States and also initiatives to bring so-called Armenian genocide onto agenda. A Turkish woman started war against these initiatives. Ulker Aksu visited U.S. cities and launched initiative to hold demonstration in front of White House in April.

TURKISH SOLDIER IN CHARGE AGAIN
Turkey undertook command of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan for the second time. Turkish Army Lt. Gen. Ethem Erdagi said: ''We have only one target: Bringing a better future to Afghanistan and Afghan people.''
GREEK CYPRIOTS APPLY TO EU AGAIN
Greek Cypriot administration, which wants Turkish soldiers to withdraw from Cyprus, now applied to the EU. This time the administration wants Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) citizens of Turkish origin to leave the island.

TURKEY TO EXTEND ISAF IN GENERAL OF AFGHANISTAN
Turkey, for the second time, undertook command of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), which was created to provide security of Kabul after Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Parliamentary elections in Afghanistan in spring and extension of mission area of ISAF to the whole country are expected to be made during Turkish command.

TURKCELL SHARE DECREASES IN IRANCELL
Iranian parliament approved Irancell law. Thus, the share of Turkcell within Irancell consortium decreased from 70 percent to 49 percent.
GULER: BUREAUCRATS SHALL NOT FEAR IF NOT ACT WRONGLY
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler who started energy operation on July 4th, 2004 said that he did not forgive anybody related with irregularity claims. Guler said that bureaucrats shall not fear if they have not been involved in anything illegal.
