US soldier killed in Iraq combat, three die in accident

BAGHDAD, Feb 13 (AFP) - A US soldier was killed and another wounded Sunday near Iraq's restive town of Samarra, north of Baghdad, the US military said.
"One Task Force Danger soldier was killed and one was wounded by indirect fire on a coalition forces base near Samarra," a statement said.
Earlier Sunday, three soldiers died in a road accident.
The deaths bring to 1,455 the total number of US servicemen who have died since the March 2003 invasion of Iraq, according to Pentagon figures.
