ANKARA, Feb 9 (AFP) - A teenager feared buried under snow after an avalanche at a popular winter resort in eastern Turkey on Wednesday was later found skiing, unaware of the alarm over his absence, Anatolia news agency reported.
The 17-year-old left the site of the avalanche without telling his parents, who then alerted security forces that their son was missing.
A 50-man search-and-rescue team found the boy skiing at a run near his hotel at the Palandoken resort in Erzurum province, which is popular with Russian tourists.
Last week, a Russian snowboarder was killed in an avalanche triggered by snowboarders practising outside the ski run.
