ZAGREB, Feb 9 (AFP) - Six people have died in Croatia and Bosnia due to freezing winter temperatures in the past 72 hours, police said Wednesday.
In Croatia the body of a 44-year-old man who died of hypothermia was found in snow Tuesday near the central town of Sisak, while another man died in Zagreb after he fell on ice.
An 81-year-old woman froze to death near the central Croatian town of Karlovac.
In neighbouring Bosnia, a 59-year-old man died of hypothermia near the western town of Kljuc, police said Wednesday. A day earlier two Bosnian men were reported dead after getting caught out in the cold near the northern town of Banja Luka.
Meteorologists forecast temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius (minus 22 degrees Fahrenheit) in the region.
