ANKARA - Turkish Culture & Tourism Minister Erkan Mumcu and Foreign Minister Abdelbaki Hermassi of Tunisia signed the protocol of Turkey-Tunisia Joint Economic Commission meeting on Wednesday.
Mumcu told reporters, ''we have taken very important decisions which will contribute to development of economic and commercial relations between Turkey and Tunisia.''
''Turkey will exert every type of support to implement rapidly the projects which are important for the development of commercial and economic relations between two countries,'' said Mumcu.
Hermassi said, ''we aim to strengthen current relations between Turkey and Tunisia. There will be new projects in the next period which will contribute to relations. We will implement these projects and meet the expectations of peoples of two countries.''
During JEC meetings, sides agreed to increase trade volume from 355 million U.S. dollars to 1 billion U.S. dollars within 3 years.
Officials decided to plan activities which will convene business circles of two countries, and to hold promotion activities mutually.
Sides held meetings for participation of Turkish contractor and consultancy firms in infrastructure and construction projects in Tunisia. They also discussed joint projects of Turkish firms with Tunisian companies both in Tunisia and other African countries.
