ANKARA - Exhibition of Tunisia photographs by Erkut Onart, a Turkish diplomat who worked in Tunisia, was opened in Ankara on Tuesday.
The exhibition which is organized by Tunisian Embassy was opened by Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Erkan Mumcu and Tunisian Foreign Minister Abdelbaki Hermassi who is currently in Turkey for Turkey-Tunisia 10th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting. Palestinian Ambassador in Ankara Fuat Yasin and other guests also attended the opening.
Mumcu told reporters, ''I am pleased to see Hermassi in Turkey. I am hopeful that the Commission meetings which have started today will bring fruitful results for both countries. Political and economic cooperation is insufficient for the unity of countries. Culture is an important element for this aspect.''
''It is important to develop friendly relations between two countries. Cultural activities like exhibitions will bring important opportunities to further close countries to each other,'' he added.
Tunisian Foreign Minister Hermassi expressed pleasure over the opening of such an exhibition which reflects views from his country.
Hermassi added that the exhibition will contribute to other artistic activities between Turkey and Tunisia.
