ANKARA - Modern world could not accept what the terrorist networks like al-Qaida and PKK were doing, U.S. Secretary of State Condolezza Rice said on Sunday.
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul and Rice held a joint press conference after their meeting.
Rice considered her visit to Turkish capital of Ankara as pleasing, and said that she would prepare to visit Turkey again soon.
Noting that Turkey and U.S. had common interests and close relations, Rice said that developments in Iraq were high on their agenda.
Wishing to see an Iraq, which has assured territorial integrity, which has good relations with all its neighbors and in which all minorities are treated well and respected, whatever their religious and ethnic origins are, Rice said that they would never condone terrorist acts from Iraq to its neighbors.
Rice stated that she was aware of Ankara's decisiveness to eradicate terrorism in its region.
Pointing out that she debated Cyprus and Middle East peace process with Gul, Rice said that they hoped peaceful solution of these two matters.
Rice recalled that Gul visited the Middle East a while ago, and added that she learned Gul's views and proposals before she headed to the Middle East.
