Coskun: Turkey Wants To Develop Economic And Technical Relations With Sister Countries

BAHRAIN - Turkish Industry & Trade Minister Ali Coskun said, ''Turkey wants to develop its economic and technologic relations with sister countries.''
Coskun, who is currently in Bahrain for official meetings, met Bahrain Industry & Trade Minister Hasan Abdallah al-Fakhru, and they have signed a Technologic Cooperation Agreement. A Technology Development Center is already established in Bahrain within the scope of the said agreement.
Coskun told reporters, ''commercial and political boundaries, besides customs walls were abolished between countries through globalization process, and a competition era has started.''
''Turkey, which connects Caucasia, Balkans and Islamic world to each other, wants to promote its economic and technical relations with sister countries. We watch with admiration democratic, social and economic developments in Bahrain which has become a center of attraction,'' Coskun added.
Coskun also met Bahrain Parliament Speaker Khalifa al-Dhahrani.
Dhahrani said, ''a friendship group between parliaments of two countries should be established to develop relations between Turkey and Bahrain. Also 'Water for Peace Project' which will connect Turkey and regional countries through a pipeline should start soon.''
Coskun also met separately Bahrain Finance Minister Ahmet bin al-Khalifa, Health Minister Nada Abbas Hafadh, and Public Works Minister Fahmi Ali al-Jawdar.
During his meeting with Public Works Minister Jawdar, Coskun said that he wants relations between two countries to develop. Jawdar, in return, said, ''several Turkish firms applied to serve in construction and engineering areas in Bahrain.''
