RICE: ''WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH INFLUENCE ON HOLLYWOOD''
Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul had a 1,5 hour meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State Condolezza Rice. Gul told Rice that her administration must take serious steps on the terrorist organization PKK, Cyprus, Kirkuk and American films portraying a wrong and negative image of the Turks. Rice informed Gul that her administration does not have enough influence on Hollywood and its productions.
SOROS: ''I AM PLANNING TO INVEST IN TURKEY''
Famous American speculator George Soros has said that the European Union reforms in Turkey has made this country attractive for foreign investors. ''Turkey's EU perspective deserves support. I am seriously considering to invest in Turkey,'' told Soros. 74 year old Soros already has an investment in Turkey, in the liquid-oil sector.

When U.S. Secretary of State Condolezza Rice complained about the negative image of the United States in Turkey, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said, ''if you do not take steps against PKK terrorist organization, Turkish people certainly will not have good feelings to the United States.''
SNOW HOLIDAY TO SCHOOLS
Although it was weekend, heavy snow storm paralyzed daily life. The snow is expected to be effective tomorrow as well. Schools were closed in Istanbul and various regions of the country for one day due to snow storm. Snowy weather affected negatively land, sea and air transportation. Several flights of Turkish Airlines were cancelled.

Turkish businessman Kahraman Sadikoglu who has been kept hostage in Iraq will be released within two days after the agreement which his family made.
HEADSCARF MESSAGE FROM ERDOGAN
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a message to German press regarding lifting of ban on headscarf. He said, ''we are carrying on activities to make headscarf free in universities.''

Rice assured Gul that the Turkish image in the U.S. will be improved. Likewise, Gul informed that his government will work towards improving the American image in Turkey.

Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that his administration is working on new ways to permit university students to wear headscarves if they wish to attend classes in that attire. ''The ban on women's headscarves in Turkish universities is wrong. We will lift all bans on headscarves,'' told Erdogan.

In a visit to the tsunami-stricken regions of southeast Asia, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that his delegation and he is there to help humanity. ''The sorrow and pain of the survivors is also ours. As humans, we must help this region devastated by earthquake and tsunami.'' Erdogan told reporters that Turkey will accept student survivors into Turkish dormitories across Turkey soon.
RICE: ''WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THE PKK''
In a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, the U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has said that the U.S. will not tolerate the terrorist organization PKK. ''We share Turkey's concerns about the PKK. PKK is identical to the Al-Qaida. Both groups are terrorists. We will not permit attacks on Turkey from other countries. We have cut off financial sources to the PKK,'' told Rice.
