Main Opposition Party Wants To Dismiss Sarigul & Tuysuz From Party

ANKARA (AA)- The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) decided on Saturday to send Sisli Mayor Mustafa Sarigul and one of its members named Turan Tuysuz to the High Discipline Board (YDK), asking for their dismissal from the party.
CHP Party Assembly (PM) and the Central Executive Board (MYK), elected after last weekend's extraordinary convention, held their first meetings today.
During these meetings, CHP sent these two members to the YDK, demanding that they should be dismissed from the party.
Sarigul has been sent to the High Discipline Board due to his behaviors during the extraordinary convention of the party held on January 29th and 30th.
Sisli Mayor Sarigul was sent to the same board on November 11th, 2004 due to some corruption allegations. Convening on January 3rd, 2005, the board rejected the demand, asking for Sarigul's dismissal from the party, with eight to seven votes. After this decision of the High Discipline Board, CHP leader Deniz Baykal called on his party for an extraordinary convention.
