MOSCOW, Feb 4 (AFP) - Russian police have identified the suicide bomber who attacked a Moscow subway a year ago, killing 41 people, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office said Friday.
The investigation identified the bomber as Anzor Izhayev, from the Karachayevo-Cherkessia republic in Russia's restive Caucasus region, Interfax quoted the Moscow prosecution service as saying.
He was born in 1983, according to investigators.
The attack, claimed by a Chechen rebel group, is part of a series of bloody strikes in Moscow and elsewhere including the school hostage-taking in Beslan last September that killed more than 340 people, half of them children.
