JERUSALEM, Feb 3 (AFP) - Israeli security forces were put on high alert in Jerusalem Thursday after receiving intelligence that Palestinian militants were preparing an attack.
"We are on high terrorist alert in Jerusalem. Police have been deployed over the city," police spokemsan Gil Kleiman said, without giving further details.
Palestinian security sources in the West Bank town of Ramallah said Israeli troops had imposed a curfew on three neighbourhoods in occupied and annexed east Jerusalem that lie on the Palestinian side of Israel's vast separation barrier being built in the West Bank.
