LONDON, Jan 30 (AFP) - British Prime Minister Tony Blair said there had been fatalities when a British C-130 Hercules transport plane crashed Sunday northwest of Baghdad.
In a recorded speech Blair said that "people lost their lives," without elaborating on the precise details of the incident.
"This country and the wider world will never forget them," he added.
The British defence ministry in London said it was investigating the crash of the four-turboprop plane.
