BAGHDAD, Jan 28 (AFP) - A roadside bomb killed three American soldiers on a military convoy in a western district of the Iraqi capital Friday afternoon, a US army spokesman said.
"Three US soldiers were killed in an IED (improvised explosive device) blast at 4:30 pm (1330 GMT)," Lieutenant Colonel James Hutton said, adding that another soldier was wounded in the blast.
The deaths raised to five the number of soldiers killed in Baghdad and the overall toll for US soldiers killed in Iraq to 1,412 since the US-led invasion of March 2003.
