DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan 26 (AFP) - The New York Stock Exchange might extend its trading hours, a NYSE spokeswoman said here Wednesday, confirming comments earlier here by chief executive John Thain.
"We are exploring a number of initatives," including an extension of opening hours, the spokeswoman told AFP's financial news subsidiary AFX News.
Two weeks ago, the Financial Times reported that the exchange was considering opening earlier in order to attract more foreign trading.
Thain spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting at this Swiss ski resort.
