RAMALLAH, West Bank, Jan 26 (AFP) - Three Palestinian militants were shot dead Wednesday by a unit of undercover Israeli troops operating in the northern West Bank town of Qalqilya, Palestinian security and medical sources said.
The three were killed in an alleyway in the city by a group of undercover Israelis dressed as Palestinians.
Their identities were not immediately known, nor was it clear to which militant group they belonged.
The killings raised the overall toll since the September 2000 start of the Palestinian intifada to 4,721, including 3,666 Palestinians and 981 Israelis.
There was no immediate comment on the shooting by the Israeli army.
