The Turkish Treasury said on Tuesday that its cash balance ran a 5.4 billion TL deficit in February 2011.
According to provisional cash balance figures, Treasury’s cash revenues were 19 billion TL and its non-interest expenditures were 18.9 billion TL, leading to a primary balance of 22.9 million TL in February.
After an interest payment of 5.45 billion TL, the cash balance ran a deficit of nearly 5.4 billion TL, the Treasury said.
In January-February 2011 period, total cash revenues were around 40.9 billion TL. Non-interest expenditures in the said term amounted to 37.2 billion TL and primary balance reached 3.7 billion TL, Treasury also said.
After an interest payment of 9.9 billion TL and privatization & funds income reaching 1.2 billion TL, Treasury’s cash balance ran a deficit of 4.9 billion TL in Jan-Feb 2011 period.
