Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Council of Europe (COE) Secretary-General Thorbjorn Jagland and EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton at the meeting of "COE-EU High-Level Dialogue."
Institutional relations between COE and EU as well recent regional and global developments were high on agenda of the meeting.
Davutoglu is currently in Brussels as the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe.
The foreign minister is set to have separate meetings with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule, Commissioner for home Affairs Cecilia Malmstrom, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Steven Vanackere and Guy Verhofstadt, the leader of Liberal Group in European Parliament, later in the day.
Turkey undertook the chair of COE Committee of Ministers on November 10, 2010, for a six month period.
