Fifa, world football’s governing body, has chosen Turkey to host U-20 World Cup in 2013.
Fifa awarded hosting rights to Turkey at a meeting in Zurich on Thursday.
Turkey was competing with Uzbekistan and United Arab Emirates.
Officials of Turkish Football Federation said that the one-month football event would create at least 9,000 jobs and help Turkey earn 300 million USD.
U-20 World Cup will be held in June 2013 with participation from 24 countries. Matches will be played in 13 stadiums in 10 Turkish cities: Antalya, Bursa, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Manisa, Rize, Sanliurfa and Trabzon.
