Hamas chief to attend funeral of Turkey leader

The head of Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, will attend the funeral of Turkey’s first Islamist leader Necmettin Erbakan in Istanbul on Tuesday, a former aide to Erbakan said.

Health minister of Hamas expresses profound sorrow
The Hamas Movement in Gaza Strip and the Islamic Movement in Israel have expressed profound sorrow over demise of Necmettin Erbakan, former prime minister of Turkey and leader of the Felicity Party (SP).
Bessam Naim, health minister of the de facto Hamas government in Gaza, said in a statement on Monday that the Islam world lost one of its greatest leaders and thinkers, offering his condolences.
Turkey and the Islam world have lost a great pioneer of the modern Islam, who dedicated his whole life to the Islam causes including Palestine and Jerusalem, he praised.
The Hamas Movement also released a statement in which it referred to Erbakan’s support to the Palestinian cause. Hamas extended its condolences to Turkish government and people.
Sheikh Kamal Khatib, deputy head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, sent messages to Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He expressed profound sorrow over demise of Erbakan and offered his condolences to Turkish government and people.
Former Prime Minister Erbakan died of heart failure on Sunday, aged 85.
