Personnel of Turkish Ronesans construction company were evacuated from Libya and brought back to Turkey on Thursday.
The company’s plane, which took off from Tripoli Airport of Libya and carrying 184 personnel, has landed in airport of Turkey’s southern province of Antalya.
Speaking to A.A, a worker of the company said that thousands of people were waiting in the airport in Tripoli to return their countries, adding that the condition of Turkish nationals was better than other foreigners.
Necati Akilli, an official from the company, said that three planes brought company personnel back to Antalya since yesterday, adding that they would bring back all of their workers to Turkey.
Ronesans Holding has carried out projects mainly in Libya, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkmenistan. In 2009, the company bought 10.22 percent of the Austria-based Porr Ag, one of the country’s largest construction companies.
According to unconfirmed reports, around 1,000 people have been killed in Libya since protests against Muammar Gaddafi’s 42-year reign began last week.
7,062 Turks have been evacuated from Libya so far. There are nearly 25,000 Turkish nationals in that country.
