Turkish President Abdullah Gul met with Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran on Monday.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi also attended the meeting.
Following their meeting, the two leaders co-chaired meetings between Turkish and Iranian delegations.
Later in the day, Gul will address Turkish and Iranian businessmen at the Turkey-Iran Business Council. He will also receive First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi, Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Secretary-General Yahya Maroofi and Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Secretary-General Mahmud Erol Kilic.
Gul will partake in a banquet to be hosted in his honor by President Ahmadinejad.
